In the second quarter of 2024, the Film & Television category on Android saw interesting developments for top apps in the US. Sensor Tower's latest data offers a glimpse into the traction these entertainment platforms are gaining among users.

Disney+ maintained a strong performance, with revenue trending upwards from $986K in the first week of April to over $1M by mid-June. Downloads saw a slight decrease over the quarter, from 457K to 267K, while weekly active users experienced a gradual decline from 3.9M to 3.1M.

Netflix, on the other hand, focused on user engagement rather than revenue generation. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 370K in late June, while weekly active users saw a significant increase from 31.7M to 34.3M within the same period.

For VK Video: shows, films, series, downloads dipped from 287K to 166K. However, the app's weekly active users showed an uptrend, rising from 1.3M at the start of April to nearly 2M by the end of June.

The Singapore-based app, DramaBox - Stream Drama Shorts, saw revenue fluctuate, with a peak at $1.5M in early April and settling around $462K by the quarter's end. Downloads started strong at 339K but tapered off to 211K, while weekly active users peaked at 783K in early April before stabilizing around 602K.

Lastly, ShortMax - Watch Dramas & Show experienced a rollercoaster in revenue, ending the quarter on a high note at $576K. Downloads spiked to 478K in the last week of June, while weekly active users more than doubled from 598K to 791K over the three-month period.
